Eagles Showing “Serious Interest” In DT Nick Fairley, Saints & Jets May Have Interest Too

Mark Eckel of NJ.com, citing a source familiar with both the team and the player, reports the Eagles have “serious interest” in free agent DT Nick Fairley.

According to Eckel, there are three or four teams with serious interest in Fairly, and the Eagles happen to be one of them. Eckel’s source mentioned that two other teams to keep an eye on could be the Saints and Jets.

Last we heard regarding Fairley, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported that the Jets had expressed interest in him.

Fairley, 27, wound up finding a limited free agent market last year, which led to him signing a one-year, $5 million contract with the Rams. He’s once again in position to be an unrestricted free agent, but will hopefully get more security that a one-year deal this time around.

In 2015, Fairley appeared in 15 games and recorded 29 tackles, a half sack, a fumble recovery and a pass defense for the Rams. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 23 interior defensive lineman out of 123 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 2016 Free Agents list.
