Eagles Sign OL Barrett Jones Off Bears’ Practice Squad, Cut OL Julian Vandervelde

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they’ve signed OL Barrett Jones off of the Bears’ practice squad on Monday and placed OL Julian Vandervelde on waivers.

Jones, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Rams back in 2013. He lasted a little over two years in St. Louis before he was among their final roster cuts at the start of the season.

He briefly played for the Steelers before joining the Bears back in October.

Vandervelde, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2011. However, he lasted just over a year with the team before he was placed on waivers and later claimed by the Buccaneers.

Philadelphia signed him to a future/reserve contract in December of last year, but waived him with an injury settlement before the start of the regular season.

Vandervelde was later re-signed a few weeks ago.

Last year, Vandervelde appeared in 14 games for the Eagles.
