Eagles Sign LB Don Cherry & CB Duke Thomas To Practice Squad, Cut Two

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they’ve signed CB Duke Thomas and LB Don Cherry to their practice squad and waived FB Andrew Bonnet and G Darrell Greene from the unit.

The Eagles’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. RB Byron Marshall
  2. DT Aziz Shittu
  3. WR David Watford
  4. LB Don Cherry
  5. WR Paul Turner
  6. C Aaron Neary
  7. CB C.J. Smith
  8. QB Aaron Murray
  9. CB Duke Thomas
  10. G Matt Rotherman

Cherry, 21, wound up signing on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Villanova back in May. However, he lasted just over a month in Chicago before the Bears placed him on waivers.

The Eagles signed him to a contract in July but he was unfortunately among their roster cuts coming out of the preseason. Cherry was later signed to their practice squad before being cut loose last week.

During his four-year college career, Cherry recorded 258 tackles, 14 sacks, seven forced fumbles, two recoveries, one interception and seven pass defenses for the Wildcats.
