Eagles Sticking With Nick Foles At QB For Week 17

On Monday, Eagles HC Doug Pederson announced that Nick Foles will remain their starting quarterback for Week 17’s game against the Texans.

Foles took a big hit during Sunday’s game but managed to return and reports later said he just had the wind knocked out of him.

The Eagles have maintained that they will not place QB Carson Wentz on injured reserve, despite the stress fracture in his back.

If Foles continues to play at a high level, it will be interesting to see what the Eagles do come playoff time.

Foles, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. Philadelphia traded Foles to the Rams back in 2015 in a deal for QB Sam Bradford and he later signed an extension with the Rams.

Unfortunately, Foles lasted just over a year with the Rams before he was released last summer and later signed by the Chiefs. The Eagles signed Foles to a two-year, $11 million contract that includes $7 million guaranteed this past March.

Foles was set to make a base salary of $4 million in 2018 when he agreed to a restructured contract this offseason.

In 2018, Foles has appeared in three games and thrown for 922 yards while completing 67.9 percent of his passes to go along with five touchdowns and two interceptions.
