Eagles Talking To P Donnie Jones About An Extension

Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports that the Eagles are talking to free agent P Donnie Jones regarding a new contract, but adds that “nothing is imminent” as of now.

Jones, 33, came over from the Texans last year when he signed a one-year contract. He finished the 2013 season with a gross punting average of 44.9, which was good enough for No. 20 in the league, but he did have a 33 punts downed inside the 20-yard-line, which ranks as the fourth most among punters. Pro Football Focus has Jones rated as the No. 21 punter in the league last year.
