Eagles To Sign QB Stephen Morris To Their Practice Squad

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the Eagles are planning to sign plan QB Stephen Morris, who released from their 53-man roster on Monday, to their practice squad.

Morris was cut loose to make room for veteran QB Thad Lewis, who was signed to a contract on Monday.

Morris, 24, wound up signing on with the Jaguars as a priority undrafted free agent out of Miami back in May of last year. He was unable to make the roster last year and later signed on to their practice squad.

The Eagles claimed him off of waivers a few weeks ago after he was among the Jaguars final roster cuts.

In two preseason games, Morris has throw for 198 while completing 57 percent of his passes to go along with one touchdown.
