ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Eagles have reached an agreement with the Browns on a trade that will send RB Dion Lewis to Cleveland for LB Emmanuel Acho.
The Eagles have had Lewis on the trading block for a few months now, but there hasn’t been any reported up to this point.
The fact that Lewis doesn’t possess ideal size for Chip Kelly’s offensive system and is already sitting behind LeSean McCoy, Bryce Brown, and Chris Polk on the Eagles depth chart, left him largely expendable.
As for Acho, the Browns drafted him in the sixth-round of last year’s NFL Draft. He suffered a knee injury during the team’s second preseason game was later placed on season-ending injured reserve.
