Eagles Officially Waive Veteran WR Miles Austin

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they’ve officially released veteran WR Miles Austin.

The Philadelphia Eagles have waived veteran WR Miles Austin on Monday, according to Howard Eskin.

  • Eskin mentions that there was some pressure from within on HC Chip Kelly was to cut Austin.

Austin, 31, signed a one-year, $2.3 million contract that included $1 million guaranteed with the Eagles back in March.

Andrew Brandt points out that as a vested veteran, Austin is entitled to the remainder of his $1 million salary.

This season, Austin has appeared in 11 games and caught 13 passes for 224 yards receiving and a single touchdown for Philadelphia.
