Tim McManus of PhillyMag.com is reporting that the Eagles have waived/injured S Earl Wolff on Friday.

Earlier in the week, reports mentioned that Wolff had suffered a setback to his surgically repaired knee, so it was possible that they could try to get him on their injured reserve list.

Wolff will, of course, have to pass through waivers unclaimed in order for him to placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Wolff, 25, is a former fifth-round pick pick of the Eagles back in 2013. He’s entering the third year of his four-year, $2.37 million rookie contract and stands to make base salaries of $585,000 and $675,000 over the next two years.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Wolff will free up $532,000 in cap space while creating $106,000 in dead money.

In 2014, Wolff appeared in seven games for the Eagles and recorded seven tackles and a pass defense.
