Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Eagles brought in RB Kenjon Barner for a workout on Tuesday after they placed Darren Sproles on injured reserve yesterday.

Barner recently worked out for the Colts but wasn’t signed to a contract following the session.

Barner, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2013. He spent just over a year in Carolina before he was traded tot he Eagles in return for a conditional seventh-round pick that did not meet the qualifications.

The Eagles waived him with an injury settlement a the start of the 2014 season and later brought him back on a future/reserve contract. Philadelphia didn’t tender him a restricted offer this offseason and he later signed a one-year contract with the Chargers this past March.

Unfortunately, the Chargers cut him loose as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players coming out of the preseason.

In 2016, Barner appeared in 13 games for the Eagles and rushed for 129 yards on 27 carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 42 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.
