Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery Cleared For Contact

On Wednesday, Eagles HC Doug Pederson announced that WR Alshon Jeffery has been cleared for contact. However, Pederson added that they haven’t made a decision about Jeffery’s availability for Week 4.

The Eagles activated Jeffery from the PUP list coming out of the preseason, which prevented him from missing the first six weeks of the season.

Jeffery, 28, was taken in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Bears. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4.54 million rookie contract with Chicago before agreeing to a one-year, $9.5 million contract with the Eagles last year.

Jeffery was in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason before he agreed to a four-year, $52 million extension last year.

In 2017, Jeffery has appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and caught 57 passes for 789 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 21 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.
