Eagles WR DeSean Jackson Played “Not To Get Hurt” in 2011

A report from ESPN claims that DeSean Jackson admits to not giving 100% at times during last season. Jackson entered the season upset because he failed to obtain the contract extension he was seeking prior to the season.  Per the article:

When asked about instances when his effort was questioned, Jackson said: “I let it get to me, even though I tried not to let it. I was trying to protect myself from getting hurt — now I’m just giving it all.”

Jackson still managed to accumulate 961 receiving yards last season, but that was his lowest total since his rookie season in 2008.  When his head is right, Jackson is a top 10 WR talent in the NFL, and one of the best kick returners in the league.
