Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin Done For The Year After ACL & MCL Tears

Update:

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that WR Jeremy Maclin suffered both a right ACL and MCL during Saturday’s training camp practice.

Maclin, 25, suffered the injury during 7-on-7 drills and stayed on the ground for several minutes while the Eagles’ medical staff checked out his injured leg.

Maclin was entering the final year of his rookie contract and had high hopes for the 2013 season. It’s really unfortunate for him as he will now enter next year’s free agent market without playing a single snap in 2013.

Eagles insider Geoff Mosher reports that WR Jeremy Maclin was carted off the practice field with a potentially serious right leg injury.

While the information is still fresh, things don’t look good for Maclin. While Mosher wasn’t aware of what caused the injury, he comments that Maclin was “writhing in pain” as the medical staff rushed on to field to take a look at his lower leg area, particularly his right ankle.

Both head coach Chip Kelly and GM Howie Roseman quickly joined the staff and Maclin, watching how the wide receiver was carted off with a towel on his face.

While there is still nothing certain, Maclin was unable to to put any weight on his leg before being shuttled off the field into a tent.
