Eric Decker Expected To Be The Broncos “Highest Priority” This Offseason

Mike Klis of the Denver Post expects re-signing WR Eric Decker to be the Broncos’ top priority this offseason.

Klis notes that Decker and Demaryius Thomas have been Peyton Manning‘s top-two targets since he signed with the Broncos almost two years ago.

According to Klis, Decker could be in line for a five-year contract worth $40 million this offseason.

If so, that would put him in line with contracts signed by Steelers WR Antonio Brown and Buccaneers WR Mike Williams last year.

  • Antonio Brown – six years, $41.96 million and $8.5 million guaranteed.
  • Mike Williams – six years, $40.25 million and $9.4 million guaranteed.

Decker, 26, has 129 receptions, 1,676 yards receiving and 21 touchdowns in the past two years combined.

If he’s able to field offers on the open market, things could get tough for Denver, although playing with Manning is likely as marketable of a benefit as any in the NFL. As things stand right now, the Broncos should have close to $17 million in cap space to work with in 2014.

We have Decker listed as the No. 18 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
