Evan Mathis Visit With Seahawks Ends Without Agreement, Seattle Still An Option

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that free agent G Evan Mathis‘ visit with the Seahawks on Saturday “went well.

However, it sounds like meeting between Mathis and Seattle ended without an sort of agreement in place.

Garafolo adds that the Seahawks will remain an option for Mathis to considering the in coming weeks.

This if Mathis’ first visit since he was released by the Eagles months ago.

Recent reports have said that other teams are monitoring Mathis including the Titans. The Dolphins have been linked to him for some time now, but it seems as though his asking price is too high for them.

Mathis, 33, is among the best available free agents, but there hasn’t been as much interest in him as many expected, which likely has something to do with his asking price.

Recent reports have mentioned that Mathis is looking for close to $5.5 million for the 2015 season.

Last year, Mathis appeared in nine games for the Eagles after he dealt with an MCL injury. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 2 guard out of 78 qualifying players.

We have Mathis rated as the No. 1 player in our Top 25 Available Free Agents list.
