Bills, Dolphins, Falcons, & Bears Likely To Have Interest In David Harris

Rich Cimini of ESPN is “hearing” that the Dolphins and Mike Tannenbaum could be among the interested teams in Jets free agent ILB David Harris.

Cimini points out that Tannenbaum actually drafted Harris in the second of the 2007 NFL draft. On top of that, Miami could really use some help at inside linebacker and Harris would bring plenty of experience to their defense.

The Bills are also expected to have interest in Harris now that they’ve hired former Jets HC Rex Ryan.

According to Cimini, the Jets would still like to retain Harris and have him finish out his career with the Jets, but the pressure is likely on them to get a deal in place before the start of free agency.

Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reported earlier in the day that the Falcons and the Bears are expected to have interest in Harris as well.

Harris, 31, finished out his four-year contract worth $36 million, which included $29.5 million guaranteed.

In 2014, Harris recorded 124 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles over the course of 16 games. Pro Football Focus has Harris rated as the No. 29 inside linebacker out of 60 qualifying players.

We have Harris listed as the No.48 player in our Top 100 2015 NFL Free Agent List.
