Falcons Bringing In DE Chris Long For A Visit

The Falcons announced Thursday that former Rams DE Chris Long will fly to Atlanta today and is scheduled to visit with the team tonight and tomorrow.

Long has already met with the Cowboys and Redskins, so his market is clearly picking up.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Long to a contract wouldn’t factor into a team’s 2017 compensatory picks.

Long, 30, was in the final year of his five-year, $60.31 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $9.75 million for the 2016 season when he was released.

In 2015, Long appeared in 12 games and recorded 19 tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble for the Rams. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 98 edge defender out of 110 qualifying players.
