Falcons Expected To Bring In Veteran G Uche Nwaneri For A Workout

ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that the Atlanta Falcons are expected to bring in veteran G Uche Nwaneri for a workout at some point this week.

The Falcons suffered numerous injuries to their offensive line during Sunday’s loss to the Vikings and were forced to play Levine Toilolo at right tackle, so it makes plenty of sense for them to target upgrades this week.

Nwaneri, 30, has spent his entire career with the Jaguars since being drafted in the fifth round out of Purdue back in 2007. He started 92 games over the past seven seasons, but was released back in March in a move that cleared $3.7 million in cap space for the Jaguars.

Nwaneri later signed on with the Cowboys, but was among their final roster cuts close to a month ago.

Last year, Pro Football Focus rated Nwaneri No. 34 out of 81 qualifying guards.
