Falcons Extend DE Cliff Matthews & FB Patrick DiMarco, Sign WR Nick Williams

The Atlanta Falcons announced Tuesday that they’ve signed DE Cliff Matthews and FB Patrick DiMarco to contract extensions, and signed WR Nick Williams to a contract.

DiMarco, 25, signed on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina back in 2011. He later caught on with the Chiefs before joining the Falcons in May of 2013.

DiMarco appeared in 15 games for the Falcons last year and caught nine passes for 62 yards receiving and a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 17 fullback out of 23 qualifying players.

Matthews, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Falcons back in 2011. He had finished out his rookie contract and would have been an unrestricted free agent in a matter of weeks.

Last year, he appeared in seven games and totaled six tackles (four solo) on defense and adding three special teams tackles..
