The Atlanta Falcons announced Thursday that fifth-round pick Marquis Spruill suffered an ACL tear and will be out for the 2014 season.

According to the team’s recently released depth chart, Spruill was a third-string linebacker, but there is no question that their depth at the position is somewhat concerning.
Spruill attended Syracuse and was a highly productive player in college. He totaled 243 tackles, a staggering 41 tackles for a loss, 12.5 sacks, four passes defensed and a force fumble during his four years.
