Falcons Worked Out 4 Players Including CB Byron Maxwell

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Falcons brought in four free agents for workouts on Monday including veteran CB Byron Maxwell.

The other tryouts for the Falcons include DBs Jeremy Boykins, Marcus Cromartie, and Robertson Daniel.

This is the first reported visit for Maxwell since he became available a few weeks ago.

There’s an obvious connection here, given that Maxwell played for Falcons HC Dan Quinn while they were in Seattle a few years back.

Maxwell, 29, is a former sixth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2011. He signed a six-year, $63 million contract that included $25 million guaranteed with the Eagles as a free agent before he was later traded to the Dolphins along with LB Kiko Alonso.

Maxwell was set to make a base salary of $10 million for the 2017 season when the Dolphins released him a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Maxwell was active for just two games and recorded eight tackles, no interceptions or pass defenses and a forced fumble.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
