Falcons Inform TE Chase Coffman That They Won’t Offer Him A Contract

The Atlanta Falcons have informed free agent TE Chase Coffman that they will not be extending him a contract offer.

This news comes despite the fact that the Falcons do not have an obvious replacement for Tony Gonzalez on their roster. As things stand right now, Atlanta has Levine Toilolo, Adam Nissley and Mickey Shuler on their roster.

Coffman, 27, signed with the Falcons two years ago, but he clearly didn’t show enough during his time in Atlanta to convince them that he could help to mitigate the loss of Gonzalez on any level.

Last year, he played just 28 offensive snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
