Falcons Interviewing Darrell Bevell For Offensive Coordinator Job

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Falcons are bringing in former Seahawks OCĀ Darrell Bevell to interview for their offensive coordinator vacancy.

The Falcons cleaned house on Monday and fired OC Steve Sarkisian, DC Marquand Manuel and ST coach Keith Armstrong.

Rumors have been circulating for weeks now that Bevell is the guy to watch for the Falcons should they fire Sarkisian, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

It’s worth mentioning thatĀ BevellĀ has ties to HC Dan Quinn from their time together in Seattle.

Bevell, 49, began his NFL coaching career with the Packers as an assistant quarterbacks coach in 2000. He eventually worked his way up to QBs coach before being hired by the Vikings as their offensive coordinator in 2006.

After five years in Minnesota, Bevell signed on with the Seahawks for the 2011 season and spent the past seven years in Seattle before he was fired last year.

In 2017, the Seahawks’ offense was No. 15 in total yards, No. 11 in points scored, No. 23 in yards rushing and No. 14 in passing offense.
