Falcons LB Vic Beasley Expected To Miss At Least A Month With Hamstring Tear

Zach Klein reports that Falcons LB Vic Beasley suffered a “slight hamstring tear” during Week 2’s game against the Packers and is expected to miss at least a month.

This is obviously disappointing news for the Falcons’ defense, as Beasley has developed into one of the best pass rushers in the NFL and even led the league in sacks last year.

Beasley, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Falcons back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $14.5 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the next two years.

The Falcons will have a fifth-year option to pick up next April.

In 2017, Beasley has appeared in two games and recorded four tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble for the Falcons. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 64 edge rusher out of 89 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Beasley’s injury as the news is available.
