Falcons Picked Up $750K By Reworking C Alex Mack’s Contract

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Falcons converted $1 million of C Alex Mack‘s $6.75 million base salary into a signing bonus, which in turn created $750,000 of cap space for 2017.

Mack, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Browns back in 2009. After seven years with the Browns, Mack signed a five-year, $45 million contract with $28.5 million guaranteed with the Falcons last year.

Mack stands to make base salaries of $6.75 million and $8.5 million over the next two years.

In 2016, Mack appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 3 center out of 38 qualifying players.
