Falcons Preparing To Offer Matt Ryan A “Mega-Contract”

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports, via Pro Football Talk, that the Atlanta Falcons are prepared to offer QB Matt Ryan a “mega-contract” no matter what the result of the team’s current playoff run is.

Ryan, 27, is set to enter the final year of his rookie contract, so it’s hardly surprising that the Falcons are already working on an offer that will keep him in Atlanta long-term. The Falcons could start off by making him an offer somewhere close to $100 million and see where things go from there.

Ryan is coming out of his most productive season in the NFL, setting personnel personal bests in completions, yards and touchdowns while winning his playoff game last weeks against the Seahawks.

There’s no doubt that Ryan is among the game’s best quarterbacks and has done everything he can to stabilize a franchise that was in pretty bad shape before he and Mike Smith arrived.
