ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Falcons have reached a deal with DE John Abraham. Schefter mentions that Abraham gets a three-year contract to remain in Atlanta.
Before the start of free agency, it seemed as though the Falcons were willing to move on without him but in recent days, they’ve been working on a new contract in the hopes of preventing him from meeting with other teams like the Titans.
Abraham has been very effective when healthy despite the fact that he’s currently 33 years old. We had him listed as the #45 best available free agent, mainly because of his future, in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
