Falcons Rookie RB Tevin Coleman Expected To Miss A Few Weeks With Rib Fracture

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Falcons rookie RB rookie Tevin Coleman sustained a fractured rib during Sunday’s game and is expected a couple of weeks.

  • Schefter adds that this will all depend on Coleman’s pain threshold.

Coleman was forced from Sunday’s game during the second quarter and never returned to the field. The Falcons wound up leaning on Devonta Freeman, who rushed 12 times for 25 yards and added touchdown, for the remainder of the contest.

Coleman, 22, was the team’s third-round selection back in May. He’s in the first year of his four-year, $3.219 million rookie contract that included a $745,244 signing bonus, and stands to make a base salary of $435,000 for the 2015 season.

This season, Coleman has ran for 112 yards on 29 carries (3.9 YPC) to go along with one touchdown over the course of two games.

We’ll have more regarding Coleman and his injury as the news is available.
