Falcons Sign 6 Players To Futures Deals Including WR B.J. Daniels

The Atlanta Falcons announced Tuesday that they’ve signed OT Carter Bykowski, WR B.J. Daniels, OT Kevin Graf, DE Martin Ifedi, TE Darion Griswold and DE Jimmy Staten to reserve/future contracts.

The Falcons have now signed 10 players futures deals. The full list includes:

  2. K Mike Meyer
  3. TE Brian Vogler
  4. C Trevor Robinson
  5. OT Carter Bykowski 
  6. WR B.J. Daniels
  7. OT Kevin Graf
  8. DE Martin Ifedi
  9. TE Darion Griswold
  10. DE Jimmy Staten

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.

Daniels, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the 49ers back in 2013. He lasted less than a year in San Francisco before he was waived and later claimed by the Seahawks.

Daniels was on and off of the Seahawks’ practice squad for over two years before the Texans signed him to their active roster towards the end of the 2015 season. After that, Daniel had brief stints with the Giants and Bears before he signed on to the Falcons’ practice squad in December.

In 2015, Daniels appeared in eight games and record one catch for 12 yards receiving to go along with six rushes for for six yards and no touchdowns. He also completed one of two passes for seven yards.
