Falcons Sign DT Jimmy Staten To Practice Squad

The Atlanta Falcons also announced Tuesday that they’ve signed DT Jimmy Staten to their practice squad.

This comes after the news that they placed DL Adrian Clayborn on injured reserve and promoted DL Joe Vellano to their active roster. (NFLTR)

Staten, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster but was later added to their practice squad. Seattle elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract only to waive him soon after.

Staten has had brief stints with the Giants, Patriots and Chiefs before he caught on with the Bears a few weeks into the regular season. He was one and off of the Bears’ practice squad for much of the season.

Staten has yet to appear in an NFL game.
