Falcons Sign TE Jacob Tamme To A Two-Year Deal Worth Up To $4M

The Atlanta Falcons announced the signing of TE Jacob Tamme on Thursday.

  • Vaughn McClure reports that the Falcons have signed Tamme to a two-year contract worth up to $4 million.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reported last night that the Falcons were hosting Tamme for a visit on Wednesday.

  • Klis mentioned that Tamme has offers from two teams including the Broncos, who reportedly stepped in and extended him an offer following the news that he is meeting with Atlanta.
  • According to Klis, Tamme was seeking a greater offensive role next season.

Tamme, 30, is a former fourth round pick of the Colts back in 2008. He spent the first four years of his career in Indianapolis before he signed a three-year contract with the Broncos back in March of 2012.

In 2014, Tamme appeared in 15 games for the Broncos and caught 14 passes for 109 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 27 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.
