The Atlanta Falcons have signed former track and field athlete Garrett Scantling to a contract on Sunday, according to his twitter account.

Scantling will likely play receiver for the Falcons based on his prior football experience in high school.
Scantling was on Georgia’s track and field team since the 2012 season and now appears to be trying his hand at a professional football career.
It’s worth mentioning that Scantling played football in high school where he caught 66 passes for over 1,200 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns as a senior. He also earned MVP honors as a junior and senior and First Team All-City honors.
Scantling will obviously need to compete for a roster spot this summer, but he’s an intriguing addition for the Falcons.
