A previous report mentioned that Roberts was drawing interest from the Falcons, Patriots and Lions, but it appears as though Atlanta proved to be the best opportunity for him.
Roberts, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract in Arizona before signings a four-year, $16 million contract.
Washington elected to cut him loose shortly after last year’s draft but he later signed a one-year contract with the Lions.
In 2016, Roberts appeared in all 16 games for the Lions and caught 14 passes for 188 yards receiving and one touchdown. Roberts also contributed 747 kick return yards and 246 punt return yards to go along with two touchdowns.
