Falcons Sign WR Corey Washington & TE Arthur Lynch

The Atlanta Falcons announced that they’ve signed TE Arthur Lynch and WR Corey Washington to contracts on Wednesday.

The Falcons also announced that veteran S Charles Godfrey has retired from the NFL.

Washington, 24, originally signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Newberry back in May of 2014. He lasted just a few weeks with the Cardinals before he was waived and later claimed by the Giants.

New York later waived him with an injury settlement coming out of the preseason.

After a brief stint with the Redskins, the Lions signed him to a future/reserve contract after the 2015 season. Unfortunately, Detroit waived him a month ago.

In 2014, Washington appeared in 14 games for the Giants and caught five passes for 52 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Lynch, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in Miami before he was waived and later claimed by the Jets.

Lynch’s stay in New York was short lived, as the Jets just him loose just few weeks later. The Broncos later signed him to their practice squad before waiving him in December.
