Falcons Have “Strong Interest” In Panthers TE Ed Dickson, Packers & Dolphins Also In The Mix

According to Vaughn McClure of ESPN, the Falcons one of the teams that have already expressed a “strong” interest in Panthers free agent TE Ed Dickson up to this point.

  • Josina Anderson reports that the Packers are also among the interested teams in Dickson along with some others.
  • Barry Jackson reports that the Dolphins are also showing interest in Dickson.

McClure previously reported that Dickson was coming up as a potential option for the Falcons in free agency, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

Atlanta is in the market for tight end following the news that they’re releasing TE Levine Toilolo (NFLTR).

Dickson, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Panthers back in 2010. He spent four years in Baltimore before signing on with the Panthers for the 2014 season.

Dickson just played out the final year of his three-year, $6,100,000 contract with the Panthers and is in position to once again be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2017, Dickson appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and caught 30 passes for 437 yards receiving and one touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 32 tight end out of 72 qualifying players.
