According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Falcons originally wanted to sign G J.R. Sweezy a few weeks ago before he agreed to a contract with the Buccaneers.

However, the Falcons are still in the market for guard help and are reportedly taking a look at Chris Chester and Ted Larsen as possibilities.

Larsen has visited with the 49ers and Seahawks since free agency officially opened three weeks ago.

Larsen, 28, is a former sixth-round pick of the Patriots back in 2010. However, he lasted just a few months in New England before he was waived and later claimed by the Buccaneers.

The Cardinals elected to sign him to a two-year deal back in March of 2014, and he’s now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Larsen appeared in 10 games for the Cardinals and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 72 guard out of 81 qualifying players.

Chester, 33, is a former second-round pick of the Ravens back in 2006. He spent five years in Baltimore before signing on with the Redskins during the 2011 offseason.

Chester later caught on with the Falcons towards of the May last year.

In 2015, Chester appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 24 guard out of 81 qualifying players.
