Falcons Try Out WR Nick Williams

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Falcons brought in WR Nick Williams for a tryout this week.

Atlanta is dealing with a few injuries at receive including WR Harry Douglas (foot) and WR Devin Hester (hamstring). However, it seems more likely that they would sign either WR Ryan Spadola or WR Bernard Reedy in the event that they wanted to add another receiver for Week 6’s game against the Bears.

With this in mind, Williams would likely only be considered for their practice squad.

Williams, 23, signed on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Connecticut last year. He was added to Washington’s practice squad a few times before he was waived at the start of the regular season. Williams has yet to appear in an NFL game.

During his four-year college career, Williams caught 43 passes for 588 yards receiving and scored three total touchdowns. He was a solid kick returner during college as well.
