The Atlanta Falcons officially placed DB Quincy Mauger on waivers Monday.
Mauger, 23, wound up signing on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia back in May of last year. He was unfortunately placed on injured reserve at the start of the regular season with a knee injury.
Mauger is currently in the second year of his three-year, $1.66 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $555,000 and $645,000 over the final two years of the agreement.
During his four-year college career at Georgia, Mauger recorded 186 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, a half sack, seven interceptions, 12 pass defenses and a forced fumble over the course of 50 games.
