Falcons Will Be Featured On HBO’s Hard Knocks

 

The Atlanta Falcons have announced that they will be featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks this summer.

The show will premier on Tuesday, August 5th.

“We are excited about the opportunity to give our fans a behind the scenes look at what it takes to prepare an NFL team for the rigors of a 16-game regular season and beyond,” said Falcons Owner & Chairman Arthur M. Blank. “This marks the first time that our franchise will be featured on HARD KNOCKS and we look forward to showcasing our great players and coaches to football fans all across America.”

The Falcons present numerous storylines with a veteran coaching staff, star players and newcomers all coming together to attempt to “Rise Up” back to the top of the NFC.”

The NFL had the ability to choose a team to appear on the show if they meet a certain criteria which includes: no playoff appearance in the last two years, do not have a new head coach, and haven’t appeared on the show in 10 years.

• The Bears, Giants, Bills, Cardinals, Jaguars, Raiders, Rams and Steelers are the teams that could have been forced to appear on Hard Knocks.

However, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell recently told reporters a few months ago on that “several” teams were interested in being featured on the show this year, so they didn’t need to force anyone to participate.

Atlanta should be a great choice as they are looking to rebound from a disappointing 2013 season that saw them post a record of 4-12.
