Falcons Will Not Be Signing LB Jonathan Vilma After Workout

 

Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports reports that the Falcons will not be signing free agent LB Jonathan Vilma after Wednesday’s workout, but that the signing could still happen down the road.

It was reported today that Atlanta brought in Vilma as a potential replacement for the injured LB Sean Witherspoon.

Vilma’s age and injury questions have certainly affected his stock.  Atlanta will surely continue to look into free agent linebacker options before camp begins.  Vilma will likely be a more attractive option as the season approaches, as his experience and familiarity within the division would likely mitigate any potential learning curve.
