Falcons Will Pick Up Vic Beasley’s Fifth-Year Option

On Wednesday, Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff confirmed that they will be picking up Vic Beasley‘s fifth-year option in the coming months, per D. Orlando Ledbetter.

Beasley, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Falcons back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $14.5 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.

The fifth-year option will keep him in Atlanta for the 2019 season and is guaranteed for injury only and he will be an unrestricted free agent the following year.

In 2017, Beasley appeared in 14 games for the Falcons and recorded 29 tackles, five sacks, a forced fumble and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 88 edge rusher out of 106 qualifying players.
