Falcons Worked Out 4 Players Including P Kasey Redfern & G Sean Hickey

Vaughn McClure reports that the Falcons brought in P Kasey Redfern, K  Ty Long, K Matt Wile and G Sean Hickey for workouts on Monday.

It’s worth mentioning that Falcons P Matt Bosher is recovering from a hamstring injury, which explains why they would take a look at Redfern.

Redfern, 24, wound up signing on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Wofford back in 2014. He was unable to make the 53-man roster in either of his two seasons in Jacksonville.

Redfern wound up signing a future/reserve contract with the Chargers this past January but was unfortunately waived during the preseason.

He later caught on with the Panthers and was traded to the Browns in return for P Andy Lee. Redfern’s time with the Browns was limited to just a few days, as he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

Redfern has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Hickey, 25,originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse in May of last year. He, unfortunately, wasn’t able to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but later signed to their practice squad.

After a brief stint with the Patriots, Hickey signed a future/reserve contract with the Jets. However, New York placed him on waivers a week after this year’s draft. The Vikings signed him to a contract during the summer but elected to cut him loose a few weeks ago.

Hickey has yet to appear in an NFL game.
