Falcons Worked Out 6 Players Including QB Ricky Stanzi & WR Max McCaffrey

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Falcons brought in six players for workouts on Monday including QB Ricky Stanzi, WR Max McCaffrey, WR Anthony Dable, DE Lawrence Okoye, DE Arthur Miley and DE Rufus Johnson.

Stanzi, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2011. He spent two years with the Chiefs before he waived at the start of the 2013 season and later claimed off of waivers by the Jaguars.

The Patriots and Browns hosted Stanzi for workouts earlier this offseason, but he was not offered a contract from either team.

Stanzi has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Johnson, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Saints back in 2013. He spent just over a year in New Orleans before he was waived at the start of the season.

The Patriots later signed him to future/reserve contracts in each of the next two seasons before releasing him coming out of the preseason.

In 2015, Johnson appeared in one game for New England and recorded just one tackle.

McCaffrey, 25, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Duke back in May. He signed a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Raiders before he was unfortunately among their roster cuts last week.

During his college career at Duke, McCaffrey caught 117 passes for 1,341 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns.
