Former Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins Still On Waivers Until Monday

Update:

Field Yates reports that former Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins is not subject to waivers until Monday, which means he hasn’t technically cleared waivers just yet, despite the prior report.

Ian Rapoport reports that former Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins passed through waivers on Saturday without being claimed, which  means he’s now an unrestricted free agent.

Tampa Bay cut Seferian-Jenkins loose on Friday after he was arrested for driving under the influence.

We are very disappointed in today’s news,” Bucs GM Jason Licht said of the move. “After careful consideration, we felt this was the right decision at this time.

While Seferian-Jenkins is one of the more talented players available right now, it’s clear there are plenty of concerns about him from NFL teams or they would have placed a claim on him today.

We’ll have to see if he ends up working out for some teams in the coming weeks.

Seferian-Jenkins, 23, is a former second-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2014. He was in the third year of his four-year, $5.254 million contract and set to make a base salary of $822,721 for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Seferian-Jenkins has appeared in two games and caught three passes for 44 yards receiving and a touchdown.
