Josh Weinfuss of ESPN reports that former Cardinals DT Darnell Dockett is expected to announce his retirement from the NFL on Monday.

Dockett, 35, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2004. He spent 10 years in Arizona before he was released by the Cardinals back in February of last year after he missed the entire 2014 season with a torn ACL and MCL.

The 49ers later signed him to a two-year, $7.5 million contract before the start of free agency, but he was unfortunately among the team’s final roster cuts.

Dockett has not appeared in an NFL game since 2013. That year, Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 30 defensive end in a 3-4 defense out of 45 qualifying players.

Over the course of his career, Dockett appeared in 158 games and totaled 459 total tackles, 40.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, 12 fumble recoveries, four interceptions and 12 pass defenses.
