Newsome, 25, was taken in the fifth round of the 2014 draft by the Colts. He was entering the third year of his four-year, $2,398,108 rookie contract when the Colts elected to cut him loose back in February.

The Colts’ decision to release Newsome came just a few days after he was arrested on two counts of marijuana possession. However, those charges were later dropped.

In 2015, Newsome appeared in 14 games for the Colts and recorded 19 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and two pass defenses.
