Former Cowboys DE Marcus Spears Retires From The NFL

Former Cowboys DE Marcus Spears has officially retired from the NFL, according to the SEC Network.

Spears is apparently pursuing a media career with the network as a college football analyst.

Spears, 31, was a first-round draft pick of the Cowboys back in 2005. He spent his first eight years in the league with Dallas before he signed a one-year contract with the Ravens last year.

He finishes his career with 185 tackles, eight sacks, two forced fumbles and a recovery over the course of 88 games played.
