Former Cowboys DT Casey Walker Passes Through Waivers Unclaimed, Now A Free Agent

Former Cowboys DT Casey Walker officially passed through waivers unclaimed on Tuesday and is now free to sign with a team of his choosing.

Dallas cut Walker loose on Monday to make room for LB Justin Durant, who was signed to a one-year contract.

Walker, 26, originally signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2013. He lasted just over a year in Carolina before he waived and later signed by the Patriots.

The Ravens signed him off of the Patriots’ practice squad in December of 2014 and extended him an exclusive rights tender. However, they placed he was waived in August of last year and later signed by the Patriots.

Walker signed on to the Cowboys’ practice squad at the start of last season.

In 2015, Walker appeared in two games and recorded just two tackles and no sacks for the Cowboys.
