Former Cowboys RB Joseph Randle Suspended 4 Games

Ian Rapoport reports that former Cowboys RB Joseph Randle has been suspended without pay for the next four games for violating the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.

  • ESPN’s Ed Werder reported that there are NFL teams interested in signing Randle to a contract, but they’ve yet to receive clarification from the league regarding a potential suspension.

Randle met with NFL investigators this summer and within regarding  an incident that occurred in Wichita, Kansas back in February, where Randle was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police received a call for domestic violence with a weapon after an incident with Randle and the mother of his son.

The mother of Randle’s son said he broke a car window in an argument and threatened her with a gun with their son nearby. However, charges were later dropped, but he still faces sanctions from the NFL. The NFL has conducted their own investigation into the matter.

This was the second arrest for Randle in a matter of four months.

Randle, 23, was in the third year of his four-year, $2.349 million rookie contract that included a $188,820 signing bonus when the Cowboys cut him.

This season, Randle has appeared in six games and ran for 313 yards on 76 carries (4.1 YPC) to go along with 10 receptions for 87 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
