Former Dolphins WR Brian Hartline Visiting With Browns

Pro Football Talk is reporting that former Dolphins WR Brian Hartline is visiting with the Browns on Tuesday.

Shortly after the news broke that Miami was releasing Hartline, speculation connected Hartline to the Browns given their need for receiver help and the fact that he’s from Ohio.

This is the first reportedly visit for Hartline, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him line up a few more meetings before the start of free agency next week.

Hartline, 28, still had another three years remaining on his five-year, $30.775 million contract when he was released. The move freed up $3.15 million available cap space for the Dolphins.

If the Browns were to add Hartline, he wouldn’t count against their compensatory picks considering that he’s a street free agent.

In 2014, Hartline appeared in all 16 games and caught 39 passes for 474 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus rated Hartline as the No. 103 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.
